It's not actually a hardcoded path but a bug in one of the perl scripts. The attached Fedora bug has a patch for this bug.
There is also a bugreport at Debian, but they "resolved" it by telling the the reporter to create a symlink... which is not the right way to do this imho. (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=495504)
