This bug still exists and is easily reproducible in the latest version of Ubuntu. I have a PC with 32GB of RAM and I can't load a Soundfont bigger than 16mb with asfxload, on my PC with 2GB of RAM I can load a 600mb Soundfont without issue, this really needs to be fixed as using a sofsynth causes pops and glitches with my setup unfortunately.
