@Jo-Erlend: That's a really good idea for an enhancement, but it deserves it's own bug report. Version 1.2.4b-2.1ubuntu1 wouldn't automatically work if users installed lame, and this bug tracks fixing that problem. Enhancing the way that Audacity instructs the user to install lame is something else. Note that it would have to go to some (potentially local) page that explained the licensing constraints and offered the user the chance to install, rather than just installing.
