For me, the behavior is erratic: sometimes I can record with playback for several tens of seconds, sometimes it stops almost immediately. I have tried changing the sample rate, latency settings and sound-activated-recording settings, but the behavior is still random. For some time I thought that maxing the CPU frequency (2.4 Ghz) helped a little, but that was probably just my imagination.

Does anybody know whether this problem is specific to Ubuntu?
