Thanks for reporting the bug and helping to make Ubuntu better! Audacity 1.3.7-2, that is included with the upcoming Jaunty release, is configured to use portmixer, so this might have been fixed. Is it possible for you to confirm whether the problem is fixed in Jaunty or not?
