This is on ubuntu intrepid, with aspell from the repos, version 0.60.6-1
the aspell package does not include a default /etc/aspell.conf (which is supposed to be there, as per the documentation). further, it does not include a default tex.conv, nor the mk-tex.conv.pl script to generate a default tex.conv.
the former is not that great of a problem, since a default .conf can be generated with "aspell dump config", and then parameters can be changed.
a missing tex.conv, however, is a bigger problem, since spellchecking a tex file ends up prompting on all the non-words in tex command arguments.
is there any reason these were excluded from the aspell package?
