@esj : Hi ! Thanks for chiming in. I think doing APT activities once a day is fine indeed.

However, I think even if we had ESM archives in cloud mirrors, having a large amount of clients do their updates all at the same time would lead to said cloud mirrors being overwhelmed, unless we throw an absurd amount of resources at the problem - resources that wouldn't be used during the rest of the day.

I think we do need both : spread updates throughout the day (this bug), and have ESM archives in cloud mirrors.
