I've had an `apt-get update` running in a while loop since Feb 6 on a machine: no luck getting it to stall.

Halfway, I added a `iptables -A INPUT -m statistic --mode random --probability 0.05 -j DROP` but this did not affect anything.

But, in the mean time, on production I have had two more of these since filing this bug report...
