thanks for the help, but i have actually fixed it myself... if anyone else comes across the problem the command to fix it is dpkg --remove --force-remove-reinstreq <package name>. thanks for being prompt though, i really appreciate it.

Try uninstalling it by using:
aptitude remove lg3d-jdk
