It looks like the black bar is supposed to be a 3-D version of the frequency-level graph in which the graph itself rotates. Even if this did work properly it would still be a very distracting piece of eye candy. There appears to be no way to turn it off even if it did work. This feature should be removed until it is fixed and only be returned as an option that can be easily disabled.
