Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

Ubuntu 7.04 german version, all updates installed.

When trying to play different media on comming to a mid-file, Ubuntu displays msg that for this type no player is installed and offers to install 2 different players. I decided to take the first one, Amarok.

Installations was without problems so far. Configured only to search for music on desktop, nowhere else.

a) didn't find the mid-file an desktop
b) Menu "Engage > Play Media"and directly clicking the mid-file in question displays msg in the msg-line of Amarok, telling

"Some media could not be loaded (no play...." the line is to short to display the whole msg.

Trying to open Help > Amarok Handbook errmsg is displayed:
"Could not Launch Help Center
Could not launch the KDE Help Center:
Could not find service 'khelpcenter' "

*) If Ubuntu offers to install a package that seems primarily to be designed for Kubuntu (KDE-desktop) the package should be adopted accordingly to Ubuntu

The file "zuhilfe.mid" plays well under Windows and on a Nokia 6310 and 6630 handy.

In the meantime I noticed that Knotify displayed an error in a window in the background ...
(I think that such breaking messages should pop up to foreground).

a) Text of first rider cannot be copied, it reads that KNotify cannot backtrace or reports a problem concerning itself (Knotify).
b) The next rider (Karteireiter, Karteikarte), displays a list of msgs:
