Right. Sorry I should have been clearer. Just so it is clear, I tested
both using a speaker that was at maximum volume and nothing.

Here is what I found:

1. With speaker plugged into the HDMI monitor (I can hear music) the
out put of the command is:

anmar@i7:~$ sudo hda-jack-sense-test -d 2 -a
Pin 0x11 (Internal SPDIF Out): present = No
Pin 0x12 (Not connected): present = No
Pin 0x14 (Green Line Out): present = No
Pin 0x15 (Black Line Out): present = No
Pin 0x16 (Orange Line Out): present = No
Pin 0x17 (Grey Line Out): present = No
Pin 0x18 (Pink Mic): present = No
Pin 0x19 (Pink Mic): present = No
Pin 0x1a (Blue Line In): present = No
Pin 0x1b (Green HP Out): present = No
Pin 0x1c (Not connected): present = No
Pin 0x1d (Not connected): present = No
Pin 0x1e (Grey SPDIF Out): present = No
Pin 0x1f (Not connected): present = No

2. With speakder plugged into the front headphone jack (I can't hear
music) the output is:

anmar@i7:~$ sudo hda-jack-sense-test -d 2 -a
Pin 0x11 (Internal SPDIF Out): present = No
Pin 0x12 (Not connected): present = No
Pin 0x14 (Green Line Out): present = No
Pin 0x15 (Black Line Out): present = No
Pin 0x16 (Orange Line Out): present = No
Pin 0x17 (Grey Line Out): present = No
Pin 0x18 (Pink Mic): present = No
Pin 0x19 (Pink Mic): present = No
Pin 0x1a (Blue Line In): present = No
Pin 0x1b (Green HP Out): present = Yes
Pin 0x1c (Not connected): present = No
Pin 0x1d (Not connected): present = No
Pin 0x1e (Grey SPDIF Out): present = No
Pin 0x1f (Not connected): present = No

3. with speaker Plugged into the line in (green) on the back of the
mother board (I can't hear music) the ouput is:

anmar@i7:~$ sudo hda-jack-sense-test -d 2 -a
Pin 0x11 (Internal SPDIF Out): present = No
Pin 0x12 (Not connected): present = No
Pin 0x14 (Green Line Out): present = Yes
Pin 0x15 (Black Line Out): present = No
Pin 0x16 (Orange Line Out): present = No
Pin 0x17 (Grey Line Out): present = No
Pin 0x18 (Pink Mic): present = No
Pin 0x19 (Pink Mic): present = No
Pin 0x1a (Blue Line In): present = No
Pin 0x1b (Green HP Out): present = No
Pin 0x1c (Not connected): present = No
Pin 0x1d (Not connected): present = No
Pin 0x1e (Grey SPDIF Out): present = No
Pin 0x1f (Not connected): present = No

For 2 and 3, I did change the output line to analog in the audio
system settings plus other that show up there (HDMI//Display Port,
Digital Output, Headphones, and Analog)
