2012-04-30 13:44:05 Romano Giannetti bug added bug
2012-04-30 13:45:17 Romano Giannetti description I used alsa-dkms driver with Oneiric, and mics do work correctly. I had clean sound, and two different devices (internal and external) with different adjustable levels. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/898081 After upgrade, mic was really noisy and crackling. Adding "options snd-hda-intel position_fix=2" to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf corrected the worst crackling, but the mic is still very noisy, and moreover, I have only one mic setting available, which creates a problem given that the levels of the two devices is very different. That seems related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/927961 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: alsa-base 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-24.37-generic 3.2.14 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-24-generic i686 AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24.
