Bug Description
Everytime I have installed ubuntu on my Asus G51Vx, I have had no sound at first. Previously, I added 'options snd-hda-intel model=asus-mode3' to my /etc/modprobe.

Awesome. Thanks! I'm on an Asus N71JA and had never had any problems but after fresh install of 11.10 this didn't work correctly anymore.
It doesn't however work 100% correctly: If I plug in my headset the speaker gets muted, but pulling them out and putting them back again mutes Speaker channel and I'm left without any sound at all. But it does mute the physical speaker correctly though.
This solution is a bit weird; "auto" should according to documentation be the default value.
