Some news; Brad Figg got the c-o-d builds up and running for Lucid again, and so I can build on those to provide you with some modules. Assuming the build in my ppa finishes ok, here's how to do to test it:
1) Make sure you don't have any linux-backports-modules-* or linux-alsa-driver-modules-* installed
2) Install linux-alsa-driver-modules-2.6.32 from my ppa: https://launchpad.net/~diwic/+archive/ppa
3) Reboot
4) Check whether it works or not
5) Post the output of "dmesg | grep hda" here.
