Ok, fixed the problem with the disappearing of the soundcard. It has to do with an analog modem that resides in the soundcard. When I installed the driver, then the card disappeared. Uninstalling it fixes the problem.

But still no sound from speakers.

Is there something that we can do? I mean how may I test to see where the problem is?
