On my system HP G5 400 with Intel Kabylake Intel HD 630 Xubuntu 22.04:
I found this solution:
I installed HDAJackRetask inside alsa-tools.
Then I choosed Kabylake Hdmi - show unconected pins - choose the first (or all 3) - override with HDMI - applyed and Install Boot Override.
So my HDMI-Output was no longer shown as unplugged, and it works, I get sound over HDMI.
(But honest, this is not realy a solution. There must be another soluton in the Kernel I think)
