I have this issue too for Lenovo A475 with Realtek ALC298 showing as "Generic HD-Audio"

Running Ubuntu 22.04, with pavucontrol have to go up to 153% sometime because volume generally low< resorting to pavucontrol is far from optimal.

is there a solution yet?
