Bug Description

I have recently installed Ubuntu 13.04 alongside Windows XP on my PC. The problem that I am facing is with sound.
First, I will tell about the Hardware (sound card and ports). This is the Sound/Audio drivers info:

(Azalia)
Integrated High Definition audio
Realtek ALC 880 chipset
Supports up to 8 audio channels
Dolby Pro Logic II compatible
Dolby 5.1

There are 3 ports in the front and 6 at the back, of which only two are for Audio output (3.5mm jacks). One at the front and the other at the back.
I have tried both of them, by connecting my Speakers/Earphones but from my understanding, the front one does not give out sound at all, whereas the one at the back gives out sound at a very low volume. I have tried Alsamixer and all sound settings, but none help.

The kernel is 8.8.0-27-generic. I have also tried 8.9.0-rc8 but it did not solve any problems, and gave me another set of problems.

P.S- I have tried it in Windows too, and the speakers/earphones work fine on it.

@Daniel - I ran that command. The thing that I noticed is that, it gives me "Alsa-Driver (not installed)." Currently trying to run the sudo apt-get install to install it. But can't for now, as the Software updater has just given me a prompt to download another kernel (8.8.0-29). Maybe it gets solved this way. After that I will try it.

If you cannot get apport to cooperate, at least give link to alsa info: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/AlsaInfo

try model=6stack-dig

do you really have three jacks at front panel ?

use hda-jack-sense-test to verify the node of the pin complex of rear and front panel

And I have updated ubuntu twice since. Current kernel is 3.8.0-30-generic. The problem has still not been solved.
@Raymond - I do have 3 jacks at the front:

One is blue colored and by icon looks somewhat like RSS feed ones (I seriously don't know what this one is for).
The second one is pink colored and the icon shows a microphone.
The third and last one is green colored and the icon shows a headphone.

And there are 6 of them at the back. I can't tell you what they are for unfortunately.

you need to use hda-jack-retask to change node 0x1b Line Out to Headphone

It worked! Thanks!
This is what I did.
First, I installed hda-jack-retask (http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/pulseaudio-discuss/2011-December/012342.html)
Then, I used the command "hda-jack-retask" to open up the console.
I used the first option, overide under 0x14. I also did the same for 0x1b because you said.
It worked after that.

Although the strange thing is that no other option was enabled. Ubuntu had not done anything for me honestly. But thanks to you this problem has finally been solved!

does the arrrow point inward or outward ?

for the front blue jack , try hda-jack-sense-test -a and plugged the loopback cable to find out the node of the jack

The arrow points inwards. It is somewhat like the 2nd icon shown on wikipedia link:(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a0/Line_waves03-1-out.png/32px-Line_waves03-1-out.png)
...only the arrow is not pointed outwards and neither is it starting 'from' the center. It is rather moving inwards, 'towards' the center and is starting from below the image.
