So far I don't, thanks for the hint, I will check out those tools.
As for the NEWS item: When upgrading several hunderet packages,
I will not browse through the news of each of them.

The specific problem with this bug is,
that you are easily misslead where to search for the problem.
If I had known that the problem is within the alsa-base,
there would not have been so much wasted time.

Unless the average use behaves completely different then I do,
a NEWS item is not enough for this change.
