Bug Description
There have been multiple reports of such problems, such as https:/
On 12.04.1 it was fine until I did a system update, and on 13.10 (it was suggested to me that I should see if the problem was fixed), the problem was there immediately out of the box (although it wasn't there when I was on a live session).
The test sounds came out fine, but when I play back a music file through (for example) Totem, it eventually starts crackling and popping. I tested the song in the "Examples" folder and some mp3's in 12.04.1, but I didn't test any mp3's yet on 13.10.

I should add that it is not all the time.
For this song, http:// www.youtube. com/watch? v=q2i6DNgHcrM , which I use because of the lack of beats in it, I got problems for 15s, then it was fine for another 15s or so, then it came back, then it went away, until 3 minutes into the song, the problem came back... and it's still going (I'm playing the song on loop)
