exactly the same problem on toshiba satellite l750 1h3 with ubuntu 14.04 lts
i added these lines to "etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf":
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1
options snd-hda-intel model=ideapad
options snd-hda-intel power_save=0
options snd-hda-intel power_save_controller=0

the problem is still occurring for me
