2012-08-16 23:12:59 gidantribal description Speakers stay on in Ubuntu 12.04 when headphones are plugged into the jack. (Acer Aspire 6920G, ICH8 chipset, ALC262 audio). All was working fine in 11.10. There also appears to be no way to mute the speakers while keeping the headphones on. If I boot up with the headphones already in the port, the sound only comes out of those. However, removing them doesn't make the sound switch to the speakers, as it used to and as it should. What happens instead is it does not. This is a regression from 11.10. This problem does not occur when using the repo Ubuntu kernel 3.2.0-29-generic and ALSA drivers (dkms-hda - 0.201208302203~precise1) https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-audio-dev/+archive/alsa-daily/+sourcepub/2626453/+listing-archive-extra .
