Marking Incomplete since OP has modified alsa-base.conf file.
@Eugenio: please remove the 'options snd-hda-intel model=auto' line from /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and restart your system. If you still do not have sound, then attach the updated information with the following command:
apport-collect 1022128

If you get sound back or are no longer experiencing the issue, then no response is necessary, and this bug report will automatically expire.
