I was trying to copy an open into a new folder and alacarte crashed.

This only happened to me when trying to copy Mozilla Thunderbird to a new folder.
It was ok with other items.

Happened to me when trying to move Add/Remove to a subfolder.

Also good to note Add/Remove was unchecked (hidden) at the time, but also happens if it's checked. 100% reproducible.

I tried to drag a menu-entry to another location in alacarte

Happend in 9.10 when dragging the "CD/DVD Creator" menu item from Accessories to "Sound & Video"

Confirmed with Natty.

Substitute the / with another character, then move the menu item, then you can rename it to the original name again.
