Seriously people, this is all about one piece of proprietary software, the 64-bit Flash plugin. A piece of 'preview' software about which Adobe themselves say, "We do not recommended that this release be used on production systems or for any mission-critical work."

This is a textbook case of *exactly* what Fedora does not support. Fedora is a distribution with core values and a mission. Fedora is *not* about getting market share at any cost.

If you don't like it, you're simply using the wrong distribution.

The 32-bit flash plugin works fine. Y'all are lucky we tacitly support the 32-bit Flash plugin as much as we do.

Though admittedly we seem to be failing to communicate this point to new users. Looking at http://fedoraproject.org/en/about-fedora and what it links to, is nothing but a lot of fluffy words and abstract concepts, and I can see how no one could possibly understand the concrete practical aspects of it. The closest I can find is at the bottom of http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Objectives

"The Fedora Project is not interested in having its distribution be a platform for proprietary or patent encumbered components. While we do not purposely make installation of such components more difficult, we also do not allow our schedule or processes to be driven by theirs."

Which boils down to "Workarounds for proprietary software are included purely at the package maintainer's discretion and are most likely going to be rejected".
