Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client
Description: Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release: 9.10
When trying to upgrade system I get:
E: The package adobe-flashplugin needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.
E: Internal error opening cache (1). Please report.
So I try to remove adobe-flashplugin in terminal and get:
:~$ sudo apt-get remove adobe-flashplugin

E: The package adobe-flashplugin needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.
Reinstalling the package also didnt work. I tried it in terminal and also from synaptic and adobe web site.
I enabled the jaunty repositories to be able to work with synaptic package manager (since it wouldnt let me because it returned above error and closed) but since I'm running karmic Koala I was not able to reinstall or upgrade the system. I forced a (now) version of adobe-flashplugin using synaptic package manager but was still not able to upgrade the system the same error came up.
When I tried to autoremove command (sudo apt-get autoremove) the same error came up.
:~$ sudo apt-get autoremove

The error does not allow the removal of any other application, install new applications and update/upgrade the system. Therefore does not allow for security updates and thus is why I selected the check box as a security vulnerability. Hope this helps.

I deleted all the "adobe-flashplugin" files I could find on the system and I was able to download ubuntu one (I had it before but was not working properly.). From what I learned, I was using adobe-flashplugin for jaunty and some of the dependencies were in conflict as I was running Karmic. Anyway Karmic would not let me update/upgrade or install new applications until adobe-flashplugin was reinstalled and then deleted. Unfortunately synaptic or the terminal werent able to delete whatever adobe files were conflicting. So I manually deleted every adobe-flashplugin file I could find. My system is back to "normal" now.
The only one problem I was left with is that I dont have an adobe-flashplugin to play youtube videos and gnash wont play them either. Terminal tells me:
Package adobe-flashplugin is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
