Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

The "Ubuntu" chat style for empathy in Lucid shows comic-style chat balloons with resized user avatar images.

With a better scaling algorithm, the avatar images would look a lot nicer than they do now

See screenshot and compare full size avatar in user info window with scaled avatar in chat window.

Scaling also currently doesn't preserve aspect ratio of avatars, so if a user has a non-square avatar, it will be stretched unevenly.

Adding screenshot to illustrate this; The same contact is shown in the list and the conversation window; the Avatar is a 100x25 red rectangle, and is stretched out to square in the conversation window.
