same problem with my dell latitude d400. when i go to shutdown or restart, the system hangs. i don't get as far as the splash screen, the screen just goes black and nothing happens. when i switch to tty, my screen just goes black and hangs.

this is after a clean install of hardy final. the only modification i've made is installing my wifi driver (broadcom b43xx) from the repository.

doesn't happen every time, but happens way more often than not.
