Steve Langasek, ok the hard drive can be parked when running on battery, but sometimes it is too much (particularly when you do nothing, you let the computer alone on battery).
Last time, it parked about 400~500 times in 1 hour.
That's why I reapplied the "fix" which always set hdparm to 254.
