It is starting to sound like it is not the drive. Just to make sure, you tested the drive in another computer that is not also a fit-pc and got the same error? The error you described sounds like what happens when there is an IO error, which is why I wanted to rule that out. Is that text exactly as the error appears? Could you post a picture, and I'll try to find the code that prints the message and what could cause it.
