Bug Description
Ran apt-get update and apt-get upgrade today at approx. 0711 PDT. Now I am unable to login to the desktop. I get to the select user screen, select Gnome as session, enter password. After approx 15 seconds a rectangle message box pops up with the following message:
"Could not update ICEauthority file /home/mista/
The only option from this message window is to click on "Logout", which returns you to the login screen. User defined selection when selected at login screen produces the same results. I am running Ubuntu Oneiric Beta 1.
It has happened with me too, but update with the synaptic! I've tried several solutions availabe on the internet like:
1 - sudo chown username:username /home/username/ .ICEauthority .ICEauthority
2 - sudo chmod 600 /home/username/
3 - delete the file .ICEauthority
sudo cd /home/username
sudo rm .ICEauthority
Any of them worked.
