I used the HDA_Analizer workout, but it is not completely satisfying: at first, sound comes out from the speakers, but after a couple of reboots it won't anymore, randomly. Plus, i have had a weird experience:
I selected, on the audio settings panel, the "hdmi output + analog input" hardware set. The "input" tab recognized a mic, so i tried to record some sound, but could not hear the result, because the speakers were not working (no channels were muted in alsamixer!). Changing the hardware set to "analog output", i had no mic working, but i could check my record and it had actually recorded my voice. There was no external mic plugged, and i had just used the HDA_Analizer tool.
I felt so near to the solution, the problem would then be "just" enabling HDMI audio output...
Too bad I can't rerun this test: i did it yesterday, and today the audio settings tab won't detect any mic in any hardware set, I can't understand why. Shame. Anyway, I will keep trying.
I really hope someone of you can find a working solution soon... I am here ready to test anything you need to test, but sadly I'm not so good to find a solution on my own.
Thanks for explanation David.
