Bug Description
This is using Kubuntu Edgy, fully updated as of this posting.
After a recent update (in the last 2 weeks or so) to edgy, various apps have started leaking memory to the point of swapping on my 2 gb system and eventually crashing. An example is firefox taking up 800 mb after a day at work browsing docs and the request tracker, even if I close everything back down to a single tab with Google loaded. I tried downloading the official build from mozzila and it still does it.
Watching xrestop, I've noticed that apps like kicker will increase their memory usage and then remain at a higher level when I do stuff like mouseover icons.
This didn't happen with the initial release of edgy.

Do you still have this problem? Unfortunately with the info provided it is difficult to proceed, have you have any success at identifying the source of the problem? Using the "top" command to see what is using up the memory might help. Also examining the /var/log/syslog and /var/log/messages etc to see if there is anything unusual might help.
Thank you.
