SInce I am new to all this forgive me if I am mistaken.. I got the following using terminal:-

jacob@jacob-laptop:~$ uname -a
Linux jacob-laptop 2.6.32-26-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Wed Nov 24 09:00:03 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux

Is this the answer to what you have asked? If not please let me know how to find out what you exactly need
