I'm not sure if the duplicate status is right. My friends using Arch and Gentoo are also reporting similar problems, so the problem might not be distro-specific. Some people told me this bug has been fixed in Xorg 1.9.2.
Anyway this is a very annoying bug which could prevent many users from using ubuntu 10.10 at all.
