The default way to emulate a three buttons mouse is to use touchs F11 & F12. that make the buttons very anti-ergonomic.
an other way (i personally ever do that modification) is to use
that lines in /etc/sysctl.conf:
dev/mac_hid/mouse_button_emulation = 1
dev/mac_hid/mouse_button2_keycode = 97
dev/mac_hid/mouse_button3_keycode = 100
that way we cant use touchpad with right hand and buttons with left hand, without breaking the arms...

Thanks for your report. Your idea might get more attention and have the possibility of being implemented if you submit a specification for it. First check whether the idea is already registered <https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+specs>, and if so, contact the specification's drafter about your ideas. Otherwise, you can start writing a spec yourself. <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FeatureSpecifications>.
You'll probably want to discuss it in forums first. Also, please note that what is ergonomic for right-handed users may be much less so for left-handed users.
I'd recommend submitting a specification for a configuration manager that will handle such changes, without requiring the user to manually edit config files.
I'm closing this bug out, as it's not so much a bug report as a feature request. |
