Comment 5 for bug 58326

I had exactly the same issue:

This for me was easy to resolve I simply had to run

sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx

whilst logged into the new kernel:

However I cannot boot from any of the previous kernels as they bomb out on Xserver-Xorg errors.
