At this point
- 20100310
boots perfectly in data center,
fails on kirkland's cloud.
- 20100310 with older (alpha-3 kernel)
shows no output past kernel messages, ie, the cloud-init job is not run.
I'm fairly convinced this is timing related. The data center hardware is generally much more powerful than dustin's laptop cloud. I think that goes both for the switches and the cpu/memory.
