Bug Description

Binary package hint: xinput

When plugging in my Sixaxis and pressing the home button to wake it up it is used to control the mouse. It should be considered a joystick first. This makes me unable to use it in any other way.

Her is Xorg log

[ 2573.930892] (**) "Sony PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller": always reports core events

Would be really great also if there was a method of changing the type

This did not happen in Karmic

Hi sethhikari,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` and `dmesg`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you're using a custom /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

[This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

Those should not be needed. I provided the relevant xorg.log.

I have this problem, too. As far as I can tell:

- Package xorg-input-joystick is uninstallable (it's marked as 'replaces xserver-xorg' if that's what does it), thus
- the mouse driver gets the device (I guess).

These might be related to, say:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-joystick/+bug/285609
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-joystick/+bug/283082

etc.

Also, it would be nice to have QT-SixA in the repo for the PS3's gamepads in particular.
