checkbox filed this against alsa because of the bluetooth headset test but this probably belongs to the kernel, not alsa.

To get bluetooth to work you need to omnibook module, which is not present in the kernel at the moment.

Same problem here with a Toshiba U400.
It worked with the omnibook module in previous ubuntu releases, but the omnibook-source package doesn’t compile any more without modification.
Manoj, could you provide an amd64 kernel for testing, or a source package ?
Thank you !

I am working on a dkms package for this module, infact I have one packaged up for dkms, and fighting with launchpad to upload to my ppa. Not sure when/if this will be available in the universe archive on time. When I am done with my ppa, I can post pointers here on how to get it. I am building a 64bit kernel and will upload it to the same location asap.

@Manoj: I tested your amd64 kernel, and it works on a Toshiba U400 with the option ectype=14.
The bluetooth module appears and is fully functional (I succesfully synced my agenda with my phone over Bluetooth).
I also tried to install your ppa package, but it is broken: it does not contain the source files and DKMS thus complains it cannot build the package.

Problem here too,

All Updates, since 2 Weeks the Modules Compile from Ominbook, but after new Compile
the load successfull, but the service is not coming up...

Before it was :

cd omnibook
make
make install
depmod -ae
modprobe omnibook ( The special parameters were set in textdocument and loaded in startup)
Bluteooth Manager starts up direclty and shows the adapter..

Since 2 Weeks the adapter doesnt come online after compiling and loading to system,
Managers etc. Say that "Bluez service" isnt available...
Maybe weve got to take a look @ this problem, because omnibook compiles fine...
loads fine, but programms cant work with the adaptor... (Bluez service)

This bug is on Toshiba Satellite U305 too.

On 9.04 I used omnibook module, downloaded and compiled from omnibook.svn.sourceforge.net. On 9.10 it does not work.

This method was successful http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=8136893&postcount=5 but I had to modify laptop.h file to make my model work. I just need to add this code:

        {
                .callback = dmi_matched,
                .ident = "Toshiba Satellite U305",
                .matches = {
                        DMI_MATCH(DMI_SYS_VENDOR, "TOSHIBA"),
                        DMI_MATCH(DMI_PRODUCT_NAME, "Satellite U305"),
                },
                .driver_data = (void*) TSM70
        }

It works. Please add my model to next version this module. It's very common. I think the problem exist in Satellite U300, U400.

Thanks.

I don't agree with this bug being marked as a duplicate. This bug references the kernel, not whether or not there are rules to automatically enable bluetooth.
