Same problem here:
it's ubuntu dapper flight 6 amd64.
My cups log file is full of:

E [19/Apr/2006:16:33:06 +0200] PID 5854 crashed on signal 11!
E [19/Apr/2006:16:33:06 +0200] cupsdAuthorize: Local authentication certificate not found!
