Dear Scott:

Thanks for converting this to a question for me. Just goes to show you how
little I know about this stuff; I was just desperate for help so I went
with the first thing I could find to try and get an answer.

I installed Ubuntu as a replacement for Windows. I do not recall choosing
to either reformat or repartition my hard drive.... so I hope it was the
latter. I believe reformat means you want it wiped out completely and
hopefully I had more sense than that when installing (though I guess
anything is possible as the whole concept of installing an operating system
when you already have one is completely foreign to me).

But, since I'm obviously not the brightest star in the galaxy, and let's say
in my excitement I did chose to reformat (ugh), all is lost I presume.

Is there anything I can do to try and recover my files?

Your help is greatly appreciated!!

Bonnie
