As soon as I insert a CD the Desktop icons disappear, the context menu on the Desktop does not appear on right-click, and none of the directories open. Once I eject the CD by hand, Nautilus begins to work, but the Desktop icons are still missing, although I can get them back using the 'nautilus' command.
I have attached a text file that includes the appropriate error messages from the log file viewer.
