Bug Description

when I upgrade my Compaq CQ-40 from ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04 i could not hear any sound any more. When I install 8.10 the sound card was not working properly, then I added the following config on the last line, from /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base

"options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1"

it made it work. But it doesn't work for 9.04.

This bug seems to be a duplicate of bug:

I suggest to merge them.

The problem appears on HP Compaq machines after installing Ubuntu 9.04.

What sound card do you have?
