Possible duplicate bugs / related bugs: bug 333110, bug 346700, bug 349786

All are related in the fact that Jaunty fails to boot from Ubuntu on USB media. This was not a problem in Intrepid or before; however descriptions of what occurs during boot-up varies widely, but the end result is the same: install fails. Could this be a kernel issue?
