package override should not point people to ubuntu-users mailing list

Bug Description

When using 'apt-cache show $packagename' the following information is returned:

Bugs: mailto:<email address hidden>

However, this is not a useful place for bugs to be reported as no one is monitoring that mailing list for bug reports. It would be better if people were directed to use a utility like 'ubuntu-bug $packagename' so bug reports end up in a useful location.

In order to take action on this, we need to determine what reportbug will do with some other value, as currently that is the primary utility that parses that field. At the moment, unfortunately, it isn't obvious to me that it will do anything useful with more appropriate values, and may get very confused; we may need to improve it first.

(Also, the value of this field is currently hardcoded in Soyuz.)

reportbug no longer takes any action on Ubuntu bugs, so we are free to change this.

Soyuz developers: could you please arrange for the Bugs field of any Ubuntu package to read:

... where %s has the source package name substituted into it? Thanks in advance.

Critical for jaunty release, the sooner the better.

Changed in soyuz:
assignee: nobody → cprov
importance: Undecided → Critical
milestone: none → 2.2.3
status: New → In Progress

We have discussed this on IRC and the way binary overrides are currently calculated by Soyuz makes it very complicated and slow to fetch the corresponding sourcepackage name for rendering it's +filebug URL.

Since the main target of this bug is to replace the current useless 'mailto:' by something, at least, usable, we decided to use a static text pointing to:

Which will not have any performance implications in the current procedure.
