I've been experiencing this bug ever since I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10 from 8.04.

It seems to mostly be triggered by running 3D games after the game quits, but has randomly happened a couple of times too.

I can get it to trigger in under a minute or so of starting/stopping a game or other 3D app.
