Same issue here. Xinerama / KDE / Nividia 8800GT.

The "workaround" doesn't appear to work under KDE; however, trying the workaround _causes_ the bug to happen.

Haven't yet tried the downgrade of X, but will attempt. Please fix this soon, this is killing my productivity.
