Bug Description
I'm trying to install Ubuntu 8.10 on a 1.2 gig Amd (32) bit PC from the alternate CDROM.
The installer runs but fails to find the CDROM that I used to launch the installer.
I opened up a shell and looked in the /var/log/syslog - I can see the two IDE drives, but no sign of the CDROM at all.
Ubuntu 7.04 Live CD is working fine with the same hardware - in fact I am going to use it to install then upgrade to 8.10 later on.

this is very strange behaviour...
